Pride Compete at Tufts Snowflake Classic

MEET RESULTS

MEDFORD, Mass. -The Regis College Men's Track and Field team traveled to Medford, Massachusetts, to compete in the Tufts Snowflake Classic, hosted by Tufts University, where they finished in the middle of the pack with an eighth-place finish out of 16 teams.

Justin Thuotte (Lebanon, Conn.) led the way for the Pride at the meet, securing first place in the long jump with a mark of 6.33m, edging out the next competitor by 0.08m. DJ Marks (Medford, Mass.) and Jalen Jones recorded seventh and ninth-place finishes in the high jump with clearances of 1.70m, while Jones placed 12th in the men's long jump with a leap of 5.60m.

Calen Russo (Brookfield, N.H.) earned a third-place finish in the javelin throw with a toss of 48.40m, while Ryan Sweeney (Lynn, Mass.) set a personal best in the shot put, finishing eighth with a throw of 12.01m. Sweeney also placed 12th in both the hammer throw (33.84m) and the discus throw (32.51m).

On the track, Chris Margiatto (Suffield, Conn.) secured fifth place in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:00.08, and Aiden Charles (Lowell, Mass.) finished sixth in the 110m hurdles with a time of 16.86. Rounding out the performances was the 4x100 relay team of Zachary Olayiwole (Marlborough, Mass.), Benjamin Happenny (Woonsocket, R.I.), Thuotte, and Riley Stogsdill (San Diego, Calif.), which claimed fourth place with a time of 45.98.

 

The Pride will remain home this week as they host the Regis Classic on Friday, April 4, on the campus of Regis College, where the team will honor its seniors following the meet.
