CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Regis College Track and Field athletes set multiple personal records at the Crimson Open on Saturday.
Ryan Sweeney (Lynn, Mass.) recorded two personal bests in field events, placing sixth in the shot put with a throw of 12.72 meters and achieving a 10.56-meter mark in the weight throw. Bryan Abreu (Haverhill, Mass.) followed in the shot put, placing eighth with a personal-best 12.48-meter throw. Aiden Charles (Lowell, Mass.) took eighth in the weight throw with a mark of 12.95 meters, while Riley Stogsdill (San Diego, Calif.) ran a personal-best 51.48 in the 400-meter dash, finishing 11th.
In distance events, Brian LaPorte (Bridgewater, Mass.) clocked a personal-best 5:09.68 in the mile, and Ed Power (Lynn, Mass.) set a new mark in the weight throw at 10.41 meters.
On the women's side, Pilar Brown (Rockland, Mass.) posted a personal best of 7.89 meters in the weight throw, while Jahdee Lamarre (Brockton, Mass.) set a new mark of 8.09 meters in the shot put. Olivia Dench (Center Moriches, N.Y.) added to the list of PRs, finishing the 400-meter dash in 1:06.28. Aleyo Amasa-Titus (Georgetown, Mass.) placed fifth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:02.13.
