Pride Track and Field Host Regis Spring Classic

MEET RESULTS

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College men's track and field team welcomed 10 teams to Regis Stadium today for the annual Regis Spring Classic where they took fourth overall with a total of 57 points. After the events, the Pride honored their four seniors: Aiden Charles (Lowell, Mass.), Benjamin Happenny (Woonsocket, R.I.), Chris Margiatto (Suffield, Conn.), and Liam Austin (Boston, Mass.).

Inside the Numbers:

  • Justin Thuotte (Lebanon, Conn.) continued his impressive field season, setting a new program record in the long jump with a leap of 6.76m, surpassing his previous mark of 6.49m from last season. He also secured third place in the triple jump with a 12.7m effort.
  • Charles and Ed Power (Lynn, Mass.) delivered top-ten finishes in the hammer throw with marks of 37.79m and 33.50m, respectively. Charles also placed 10th in the shot put (11.61m), while Ryan Sweeney (Lynn, Mass.) edged into ninth place with a throw of 12.09m.
  • Joseph Doughty (Woburn, Mass.) and Jalen Jones both earned fifth place in the high jump, clearing 1.7m. Jones also placed sixth in the triple jump with a 12.18m performance.
  • Caleb Russo (Brookfield, N.H.) and Austin wrapped up the field events with fifth (50.08m) and 10th (44.87m) place finishes in the javelin throw.
  • On the track, Margiatto secured a runner-up finish in the 400m hurdles, clocking in at 57.68 seconds.
  • Riley Stogsdill (San Diego, Calif.) took third place in the 400m dash with a time of 50.72 seconds. He later teamed up with Zach Olayiwole (Marlborough, Mass.), Happenny, and Margiatto in the sprint medley relay, where the squad finished second with a time of 3:49.52.
