Regis Competes in Suffolk Relays

BOSTON - The Regis Pride track and field team competed in the Suffolk Relays on Saturday, Jan, 11 at the TRACK at New Balance.


Emily Aho (Pelham, N.H.) led the charge for the Pride, finishing strong in the 60m hurdles with a time of 11.50 seconds. In the women's 800m, Olivia Mmamelu (Waltham, Mass.) posted a solid 3:10.34 to secure 22nd place followed by Kim Avalo (North Attleboro, Mass.) at 3:35.86 for 25th place.

Riley Stogsdill (San Diego, Calif.) completed the 800 run in 2:01.54 to clinch 10th place.

Aubrey Heise (Mattapoisett, Mass.) finished 12th in the 500 dash with a time of 1:23.90 to secure 12th place, while Annabelle Jean-Philippe (Randolph, Mass.) finished in 24th.

In the women's 1600m sprint relay, Aho, Grace Micklon (Salem, N.H.), Jean-Philippe, and Heise teamed up to finish 8th with a time of 4:55.03. Aho also placed 28th in the long jump with a leap of 4.27m, while Micklon followed closely with a jump of 4.03m, earning 33rd place. In the high jump, Micklon cleared 1.35m to finish 35th.

In the men's 60m dash, Justin Thuotte (Lebanon, Conn.) led the pack for the Pride with a time of 7.40 seconds. Teammates Harry Grayson (Lowell, Mass.) (7.50), Manny Grant (Dorchester, Mass.) (7.60), and Joseph Doughty (Woburn, Mass.) (7.70) followed closely behind, while Michael Hatch (Peabody, Mass. ) clocked 8.88 seconds.

Stogsdill earned a strong 10th-place finish in the men's 800m with a time of 2:01.54. In the 1000m, Benjamin Happenny led the men with a time of 1:12.49, finishing 18th, followed by Chris Margiatto (Suffield, Conn.) (1:12.97) in 19th and Kederson Pierre (Everett, Mass. ) (1:14.81) in 20th.

The men's long jump saw Thuotte land at 5.90m for 26th place, with Doughty jumping 4.92m and Marks reaching 4.70m, finishing 50th. In the high jump, Doughty, Marks, and Ben Myette (Hanson, Mass.) each cleared 1.60m, with Doughty and Marks finishing 31st and Myette placing 33rd.

On the distance side, Mmamelu completed the women's mile run in 6:50.63 for 61st place, with Abby Kilbride (Peabody, Mass.) finishing just behind in 7:01.04 (62nd). For the men, Haroun Mafhoum (Bellingham, Mass.) posted a time of 4:52.02 for 76th, while Myette finished in 5:52.28, placing 98th.


The Pride will return to action on Saturday, January 18, at the Branwen Smith-King Invitational, with events beginning at 10:00 a.m.
