Regis Men's Indoor Track Competes at Wesleyan Invitational

MIDDLETOWN, CONN. – The Regis Men's Indoor Track and Field team competed in their first meet of the season at the Wesleyan Indoor Invitational on Saturday at the Bacon Field House.

Riley Stogsdill (San Diego, Calif.) opened the season finishing in second place with a time of 1:27.02 for the men's 600-meter dash, and sixth for the men's 3000 meter with a final of 9:47.93. Chris Margiatto (Suffield, Conn.) compiled a time of 1:32.38 in the men's 600-meter dash, followed by Kederson Pierre (Everett, Mass.) at 1:35.94. Haroun Mafhoum (Bellingham, Mass.) earned a fourth-place spot in his collegiate 800-meter debut for the Pride earning a final time of 2:16.45, while finishing the mile at fifth place with a final of 4:55.36.

Ben Myette (Hanson, Mass.) finished the 1000-meter race with a time of 3:11.72 to place himself in fourth.

The Pride saw multiple student-athletes place in the top 10 for the men's high jump with Zach Myrick (Southington, Conn.) earning a mark of 1.80m, DJ Marks (Medford, Mass.) finishing with 1.60m, Joseph Doughty (Woburn, Mass.) clinching seventh at 1.55m followed by Myette at 1.50m. Ryan Sweeney (Lynn, Mass.) earned a mark of 11.77m to place 11th  in the shot put while Griffin McGahan (Melrose, Mass.) finished with a 9.58m mark followed by Ed Power (Lynn, Mass.) at 9.55m.

The Regis College track and field team will now prepare for the Suffolk Ice Breaker at The Track and New Balance in Boston, on Jan. 11, starting at 10:00 a.m.
