CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Regis Track and Field teams had a successful weekend, with the women competing in the John Thomas Terrier Classic and the men participating in the Harvard Invitational.
Colleen Curran (Woburn, Mass.) led the Pride with a 14th-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles, clocking in at 10.77 seconds. In the 4x400-meter relay, Curran, Aleyo Amasa Titus (Georgetown, Mass.), Olivia Dench (Center Moriches, N.Y.), and Aubrey Heise (Mattapoisett, Mass.) completed the race in 4:29.37, securing a top 40 finish (36th overall). Heise also showcased her speed in the 400-meter dash, finishing in 52nd place with a time of 1:01.42. Annabelle Jean-Philippe (Randolph, Mass.) completed the 400-meter dash in 1:12.65.
Amasa Titus and Dench also competed in the 60-meter dash, with Dench clocking in at 8.47 seconds and Amasa Titus finishing in 8.71 seconds.
Joseph Doughty (Woburn, Mass.) made a strong start in the men's high jump, securing a 7th-place finish with a jump of 1.62 meters. DJ Marks (Medford, Mass.) also achieved the same height. Marks and Doughty then competed in the men's long jump, with Marks finishing in 20th place at 4.87 meters and Doughty in 21st place at 4.64 meters.
The men's shot put team also had a successful performance, with Ryan Sweeney (Lynn, Mass.) securing a 9th-place finish. Bryan Abreu (Haverhill, Mass.), Aiden Charles (Lowell, Mass.), Justin Thuotte (Lebanon, Conn.), and Ed Power (Lynn, Mass.) also contributed to the team's success.
This weekend, the men and women's teams will split up, with some competing in the John Thomas Terrier Classic at 10:30 a.m. and others at the Harvard Invitational, which begins at 2:00 p.m.
