Regis Indoor Track and Field competes in Branwen Smith-King Invitational

This weekend, the Regis Indoor Track and Field teams competed at the Branwen Smith-King Invitational, hosted by Tufts University, with several standout performances across both the men's and women's events.

Women's Results:

  • Aubrey Heise (Mattapoisett, Mass.) earned a second-place finish in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:43.40.
  • Olivia Mmamelu (Waltham, Mass.) also claimed second in the 800-meter run, crossing the finish line in 2:54.15.
  • Annabelle Jean-Philippe (Randolph, Mass.) finished fifth in the 800-meter run with a time of 3:03.34, while Avalo took eighth in 3:31.47.
  • In the 3000-meter run, Abby Kilbride (Peabody, Mass.) secured 11th place with a time of 14:05.07.
  • Jonnie Charest (Methuen, Mass.) placed 16th in the 5000-meter run with a time of 23:06.54.
  • Emily Aho (Pelham, N.H,) posted an 11.34-second time in the 60-meter hurdles, securing 16th place before finishing the triple jump with a 9.39 meter mark.
  • In field events, Kimberly Avalo (North Attleboro, Mass.) leaped 4.50 meters in the long jump, with Grace Micklon (Salem, N.H.) close behind at 4.11 meters. Micklon also cleared 1.36 meters in the high jump.
  • Isabella Clark led the throwing events for the women, reaching 8.35 meters in the weight throw.

Men's Results:

  • Michael Hatch (Peabody, Mass.) started the sprints with an 8.47-second finish in the 60-meter dash, followed by Harry Grayson (Lowell, Mass.) (23.80 seconds) and DJ Marks (Medford, Mass.) (26.91 seconds). Hatch also ran the 200-meter dash in 28.40 seconds.
  • Chris Margiatto (Suffield, Conn.) placed 10th in the men's 400-meter dash with a time of 54.95 seconds.
  • The men's team earned three top-10 finishes in the 800-meter run, with Benjamin Happenny (Woonsocket, R.I.) (4th, 2:04.25), Haroun Mafhoum (Bellingham, Mass.) (5th, 2:06.19), Brian LaPorte (Bridgewater, Mass.) (6th, 2:07.74), and Margiatto (8th, 2:11.61).
  • Mafhoum completed the one-mile run in 4:51.21, followed by Happenny in 5:11.55 and LaPorte in 5:28.05.
  • In the 3000-meter run, Ben Myette (Hanson, Mass.) finished 7th with a time of 11:54.40.
  • In the high jump, Justin Thuotte (Lebanon, Mass.) cleared 1.80 meters for 10th place, followed by Joseph Doughty (Woburn, Mass.) (1.70 meters), and both Marks and Myette cleared 1.60 meters.
  • Thuotte also performed well in the long jump, reaching 6.47 meters, with Grayson following at 5.98 meters.
  • In the shot put, Ryan Sweeney (Lynn, Mass.) achieved a mark of 11.69 meters, followed by Ed Power (Lynn, Mass.) at 9.78 meters and Griffin McGahan (Melrose, Mass.) with 7.98 meters.

Regis is scheduled to travel to compete in the Wesleyan Indoor Invitational at the Bacon Field House on Jan. 25, starting at 10:00 a.m.
