Regis Track and Field Competes in Wheaton Post-Season Qualifier

NORTON, Mass. – Select athletes from the Regis Indoor Track and Field Team competed in the Wheaton Post-Season Qualifier Meet on Saturday.

Aleyo Amasa-Titus (Georgetown, Mass.) earned a runner-up finish in the women's long jump, setting a personal record with a mark of 4.95 meters. She later placed fifth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.17. Aubrey Heise (Mattapoisett, Mass.) secured third place in the women's 800-meter race, clocking in at 2:27.14.

The 4x200-meter relay team of Amasa-Titus, Heise, Olivia Dench (Center Moriches, N.Y.), and Abby Kilbride (Peabody, Mass.) finished second overall with a time of 1:52.50.

On the men's side, Brian LaPorte (Bridgewater, Mass.) completed the mile run in 5:06.07, finishing 12th. Chris Margiatto (Suffield, Conn.) placed 15th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.49, while Benjamin Happenny (Woonsocket, R.I.) recorded a time of 24.93 in the 200-meter dash, also placing 15th.

In the field events, Ryan Sweeney (Lynn, Mass.) finished 14th in the shot put with a mark of 11.60 meters, while Aiden Charles (Lowell, Mass.) tied for first place in the weight throw with a throw of 14.33 meters.

Regis is set to compete at the New England Division III Indoor Championships on Friday, February 28, at 12:00 p.m.
