Pride Women’s Track & Field Competes at Tufts Snowflake Classic

SOMERVILLE, Mass. – The Regis College women's track and field team opened its 2024 outdoor season Saturday at the Snowflake Classic, hosted by Tufts University at the Clarence "Ding" Dussault Track & Field Complex.

Libby Parker (Bow, N.H.) produced the Pride's best individual placement in an event, finishing fourth in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 13:24.05. Parker would run over eight miles in competition during the day as she also finished ninth in the 10,000 meter run in 46:52.45, followed by Jonnie Charest (Methuen, Mass.) in 10th place in 48:49.27.

Ashleigh Kelley (Stoneham, Mass.) finished sixth in the 5000 meter run with a time of 18:27.08, with Erin Kelley (Stoneham, Mass.) crossing the finish line in 10th place in 19:09.10. The other scoring performance on the track came from Janet Amasa-Titus (Georgetown, Mass.) as she placed seventh in the 400 meter dash in 1:02.91.

Emily Aho (Pelham, N.H.) led the Pride with a seventh place finish in the triple jump, posting a personal outdoor-best mark of 9.86 meters (32' 4.25") on her second attempt, plus she completed the 100 meter hurdles in 19.40 seconds. Elsewhere in the jumping events, Colleen Curran (Woburn, Mass.) finished 12th in the long jump at 4.60 meters (15' 1.25"), and Grace Micklon (Salem, N.H.) cleared 1.37 meters (4' 6") to finish 12th in the high jump.

Anastazia Copeland (West Hartford, Conn.) finished ninth in the hammer throw with a mark of 35.03 meters (114' 11"), while Kristin Barrett (Plymouth, Mass.) placed 15th in the shot put at 8.91 meters (29' 2.75"). In the 400 meter hurdles, Curran finished in ninth place overall with a time of 1:13.39.

The Pride will host the Regis Spring Classic next Friday, April 5, starting at 1 p.m. with several field events and continuing at 2 p.m. with the track schedule. After the meet, the seniors on the squad will be recognized for their significant contributions to the track and field program.
