Regis Women Wrap Up 2023-24 Indoor Campaign with Two School Records

BOSTON - Two school records were rewritten as members of the Regis College women's track and field team concluded the 2023-24 indoor season Sunday at the New England Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships at The TRACK at New Balance.

Aleyo Amasa-Titus (Georgetown, Mass.) lowered her own indoor school record in the 200 meter dash by 6/100ths of a second with a time of 26.31 seconds. She then anchored the 4x400 meter relay, joining Olivia Dench (Center Moriches, N.Y.), Janet Amasa-Titus (Georgetown, Mass.), and Colleen Curran (Woburn, Mass.) for a combined time of 4:09.69, smashing the previous school record set just one week ago at the GNAC Championships by over 10 seconds. The Pride finished second in their heat and 11th overall in the event.

Earlier in the day, Anastazia Copeland (West Hartford, Conn.) just missed All-New England honors as she finished ninth in the women's weight throw with a personal-best mark of 14.50 meters (47' 7") posted on her first attempt. She bested her previous personal best mark by almost a full half-meter as she ended up just 0.07 meters behind the seventh place finisher.

The Regis College track and field team will begin preparations for the outdoor season, starting with the BSU Bears Invitational at Bridgewater State University Saturday, March 23. The Pride host the 2024 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships Saturday and Sunday, April 27-28.
