Ashleigh Kelley School Record Highlights Track and Field Weekend

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – Ashleigh Kelley (Stoneham, Mass.) smashed the school record in the 5000 meter run, highlighting Regis College's participation at both the Carla Coffey Invitational hosted by Smith College and the Silfen Invitational hosted by Connecticut College Friday and Saturday, April 14-15.

Less than 24 hours after running the 1500 meter run in 5:01.26 at the SIlfen Invitational, Kelley completed the 5000 meter run at the Coffey Invitational in 18:23.35, almost 30 seconds faster than the previous record. She would finish fifth in the event and qualify for the New England Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships in early May.

Also at the Silfen Invitational Friday night, Erin Kelley (Stoneham, Mass.) posted a New England Division III Championships qualifying time in the 10,000 meter run, finishing 13th overall in the event with a time of 40:33.78.

Back at the Coffey Invitational, Kristin Barrett (Plymouth, Mass.) placed sixth in the shot put with a collegiate-best mark of 10.19 meters (33' 5.25") accomplished on her fifth attempt. Tori Bradley (Dracut, Mass.) enjoyed a solid meet, finishing eighth in the javelin throw with a collegiate-best mark of 26.91 meters (88' 3"), 11th in the hammer throw at 33.21 meters (108' 11"), and 12th in the discus throw at 27.69 meters (90' 10").

Also in the discus throw, Allie Sanidas (Ipswich, Mass.) placed 10th with a collegiate-best mark of 28.04 meters (92' 0"). In the jumps, Emily Aho (Pelham, N.H.) finished 12th in the triple jump with a mark of 9.22 meters (30' 3"), and Mikayla Francois (Walpole, Mass.) finished 13th in the long jump with a mark of 4.43 meters (14' 6.5").

Francois also anchored the Regis 4x100 meter relay, joining Lily Belschner (Revere, Mass.), Olivia Dench (Center Moriches, N.Y.), and Abby Kilbride (Peabody, Mass.) for an eighth place finish in 52.85 seconds. Francois, Dench, Kilbride, and Annabelle Jean-Philippe (Randolph, Mass.) placed 10th in the 4x400 meter relay with an overall time of 4:45.01.

Elisa D'Sa (Bellmore, N.Y.) posted a collegiate-best time of 1:14.21 in the 400 meter hurdles, finishing 13th overall. Libby Parker (Bow, N.H.) finished 12th in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 13:30.82.

The Regis College track and field team will host the Pre-Conference Meet next Saturday, April 22, beginning at 10 a.m. at Regis Stadium. After the meet, the seniors on this year's squad will be honored for their contributions to the program.
