Regis Men’s Track and Field Continues Outdoor Season

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – The 2024 outdoor track and field season continued for the Regis College men's track and field team over the weekend at the Carla Coffey Invitational hosted by Smith College.

Friday, Brett Kiesel (Rocky Hill, Conn.) finished sixth in the javelin throw with a mark of 45.64 meters (149' 9") and eighth in the pole vault after clearing 3.35 meters (10' 11.75"). Saturday, Zach Myrick (Southington, Conn.) cleared 1.77 meters (5' 9.75") in the high jump to finish seventh in that event, while DJ Marks (Medford, Mass.) placed 10th after clearing 1.52 meters (4' 11.75").

Justin Thuotte (Lebanon, Conn.) started the decathlon Friday by posting a collegiate-best time of 11.57 seconds in the 100 meter dash, followed by a mark of 5.93 meters (19' 5.5") in the long jump. He posted a mark of 10.14 meters (33' 3.25") in the shot put, cleared 1.78 meters (5' 10") in the high jump, and ran the 400 meter dash in 56.22 seconds, also a collegiate-best time, to finish the first day in fourth place with 2,964 points.

Saturday, Thuotte completed the 110 meter hurdles in 20.78 seconds before posting the third-best mark in the discus throw at 31.82 meters (104' 4"). Unfortunately, he did not post a height in the pole vault before a mark of 29.18 meters (95' 9") in the javelin throw and a time of 5:29.59 in the 1500 meter run. Thuotte concluded the decathlon in 11th place with 4,443 points.

Aiden Charles (Lowell, Mass.) enjoyed a solid meet, posting collegiate-best times of 16.44 seconds in the 110 meter hurdles to finish 12th and 24.99 seconds in the 200 meter dash. He also placed 14th in the hammer throw with a mark of 34.60 meters (113' 6") and 20th in the discus throw at 32.90 meters (107' 11"), leading the Pride in both events.

Harry Grayson (Lowell, Mass.) finished 15th in the long jump with a mark of 5.99 meters (19' 8"), while Ryan Sweeney (Lynn, Mass.) placed 17th in the shot put with a mark of 11.30 meters (37' 1"). Chris Margiatto (Suffield, Conn.) posted a time of 1:01.17 in the 400 meter hurdles, finishing fourth in his heat.

Also on the track, Bryce Toumayan-Miller (Natick, Mass.) led the Pride in the 100 meter dash with a collegiate-best time of 12.27 seconds and in the 200 meter dash in 24.08 seconds. Riley Stogsdill (San Diego, Calif.) completed the 800 meter run in 2:07.81 and Benjamin Happenny (Woonsocket, R.I.) finished the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:19.00.

The Regis College track and field team heads to Cambridge, Mass., next weekend for the Sean Collier Invitational hosted by MIT Friday and Saturday, April 19-20.
