Men’s Track & Field Continues Indoor Season at Tufts

MEDFORD, Mass. - The Regis College men's track and field team posted several personal best performances as it competed at the Branwen Smith-King Invitational Saturday, hosted by Tufts University at the Gantcher Family Sports and Convocation Center.

Aiden Charles (Lowell, Mass.) finished sixth in the weight throw with a personal-best mark of 14.61 meters (47' 11.25"), improving by 0.21 meters upon his effort last week that qualified him for the New England Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships. Charles also finished ninth in the preliminaries of the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 9.34 seconds.

Riley Stogsdill (San Diego, Calif.) finished in seventh place overall in the 400 meter dash with a time of 55.78 seconds as well as in eighth place overall in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:19.76. In the 600 meter run, Benjamin Happenny (Woonsocket, R.I.) posted a collegiate-best time of 1:31.05 to finish 10th overall, while Chris Margiatto (Suffield, Conn.) placed 14th overall with a time of 1:33.96.

Zach Sigman (Buffalo, N.Y.) posted a personal indoor-best time of 17:55.05 in the 5000 meter run to finish 11th overall. Bryce Toumayan-Miller (Natick, Mass.) also ran a personal indoor-best time in the 200 meter dash as he completed the race in 24.63 seconds.

Also in the field events, Brett Kiesel (Rocky Hill, Conn.) cleared 3.50 meters (11' 5.75") in the pole vault to finish in seventh place, plus he led the Pride in the shot put with a personal indoor-best mark of 11.43 meters (37' 6"). Justin Thuotte (Lebanon, Conn.) also posted a seventh place finish in the long jump with a mark of 6.12 meters (20' 1") as well as a sixth place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 11.99 meters (39' 4").

The Regis track and field team heads south next Saturday, Jan. 27, for the Wesleyan Indoor Invitational at the Bacon Field House in Middletown, Conn., starting at 10 a.m.
