Harry Grayson Breaks Indoor School Record in 200 Meter Dash

BOSTON - Sophomore Harry Grayson (Lowell, Mass.) broke the indoor school record in the 200 meter dash, highlighting the participation by members of the Regis College men's track and field team at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational Saturday, hosted by Boston University at the BU Track and Tennis Center.

Grayson finished second in his heat of the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.00 seconds, over a full second quicker than his previous personal-best time and 1/100th of a second quicker than the old school record of 23.01 seconds established by Matt Owens Feb. 15, 2014. Grayson was just 0.13 seconds behind heat winner Joshua Antoine of Colgate University.

Also in the 200 meter dash, Justin Thuotte (Lebanon, Conn.) won his heat by 4/10ths of a second with a time of 23.56 seconds, 1.82 seconds faster than his previous personal-best time. In the 400 meter dash, Riley Stogsdill (San Diego, Calif.) finished in fifth place in his heat with a time of 54.18 seconds.

The Regis College men's track and field team will return to the Boston University Track and Tennis Center next Sunday, Feb. 18, for the 2024 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Indoor Track and Field Championships. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m., with the men looking to challenge for the conference title after finishing second at both the indoor and outdoor league championships last year.
