Plymouth, N.H. – The Regis College men's track and field team took a bus up to Plymouth State to compete in the Panther Invitational on Saturday.

The Pride would place two in the top five of the weight throw as Daniel LaFlamme (Watertown, Conn.) would have a toss of 14.55 meters to finish second and Cole Anderson (Falmouth, Maine) would place fifth with a throw of 12.65 meters.

The shot put saw three members of the Pride place in the top 10 in the event with LaFlamme leading the charge in fourth place at 13.19 meters, setting a new personal record. Frank Pelleteri (Freeport, Maine) would finish in eighth with a toss of 12.31 meters, and Mark Dumas placed right behind him in ninth at 11.89 meters.

Nicholas Pastore (Norwood, Mass.) would tie his personal record of 7.38 seconds in the 60 meter dash as he would make the finals of the event, finishing in eighth. Pastore would place third in the 200 meter dash, running the event in a time of 23.99 seconds.

In the 800 meter run, Jovan Sematimba (Burlington, Mass.) placed third with a time of 2:08.01. JJ Pedersen (Milford, Conn.) and Christian Hendricks (Edgewater, Md.) would both set new personal bests in the event. Pedersen completed the race in 2:13.28, followed by Hendricks in 2:16.47.

The Pride would place sixth as a team for the day, compiling a total of 36.5 points. Plymouth State took the meet winning with 150 points, and Eastern Connecticut State placed second with a total of 125 points.

The Pride return to competition next week when they will compete in the Gordon Kelly Invitational hosted by MIT.
