OWENS COMPETES AT ECAC OUTDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Matt Owens (Boston, Mass.) of the Regis College track and field team ran his last race of the 2013 outdoor track season on Thursday afternoon at the ECAC Outdoor Track & Field Championship at Springfield College. The freshman came in 25th out of 28 qualifiers in the 100m prelims after coming in at a time of 11.17 seconds.

"Matt didn't get out of the blocks well, but made up a lot of ground in the last 50m. He has tremendous talent and three years of competition ahead of him. This was an impressive season of school records and running against the best in New England. I look forward to his bright future in the sport," said head coach Dan Flynn. 

The race officially concludes the 2013 outdoor track season for the Pride, who will be back in action again in December.
