Olivia Juneau Named GNAC Rookie of Week for Second Time

WINTHROP, Mass. – After competing at the New England Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships this past weekend, freshman Olivia Juneau (Wakefield, Mass.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Track and Field Rookie of the Week for the second time this season, announced by the league office Monday.

Juneau qualified for the New England Championships by posting a time of 1:00.66 in the 400 meter dash at the GNAC Championships Feb. 16, breaking the school record and winning the conference crown. At the championship meet hosted by Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vt., she finished second in her heat and 19th overall with a time of 1:02.57.

This is the second weekly honor for Juneau, as she was previously named GNAC Rookie of the Week Feb. 10 after finishing fourth in the 60 meter hurdles. She posted a then season-best time of 10.25 seconds in the preliminaries before completing the final in 10.38 seconds.

Juneau ends the indoor season with Regis' best marks in the 60 meter hurdles (10.06), 200 meter dash (28.10), and 400 meter dash, plus she led off the 4x400 meter relay at the Branwen Smith-King Invitational at Tufts University Feb. 1 that posted the season's best time of 4:30.56.

Speaking of Tufts University, the Regis track and field team will begin the outdoor season there at the Snowflake Classic Saturday, March 28.
