Conrad Kalinowski Named GNAC Men’s Track & Field Rookie of Week

WINTHROP, Mass. - For the third time during the current outdoor track and field season, Conrad Kalinowski (London, England) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Track and Field Rookie of the Week, as the weekly awards were announced Monday, April 24, by the league office.

At Saturday's Regis Pre-Conference Meet, Kalinowski improved upon his own outdoor school record in the pole vault, winning the event after clearing 4.20 meters (13' 9.25") on his first attempt at that height. In addition, he led the Pride in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.71 seconds to end up in third place overall in that event, plus he finished second in the hammer throw at 32.80 meters (107' 7") and third in the javelin throw at 45.19 meters (148' 3").

Heading into the GNAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships this weekend, Kalinowski is first on the GNAC performance list in the pole vault and the hammer throw, plus he is second on the list in the shot put and third in the javelin throw. At the GNAC Indoor Track and Field Championships in February, Kalinowski won the pole vault and finished second in both the shot put and the weight throw.

This is Kalinowski's third outdoor weekly award and fifth GNAC weekly award overall this year, starting with both Field Athlete and Rookie of the Week honors Jan. 30. He has previously been named GNAC Rookie of the Week for outdoor track and field April 3 and April 17 as he continues a run of five straight weekly rookie awards for the Pride men since the start of the outdoor season.

The Regis College track and field team heads to Standish, Maine, for the 2023 GNAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Saint Joseph's College Saturday and Sunday, April 29-30.
