Kiesel, Kalinowski Selected GNAC Weekly Award Recipients

WINTHROP, Mass. – After school record performances over the weekend at the Carla Coffey Invitational at Smith College, Brett Kiesel (Rocky Hill, Conn.) has been named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Field Athlete of the Week and Conrad Kalinowski (London, England) has received GNAC Men's Track and Field Rookie of the Week honors, as announced Monday, April 17, by the league office.

Kiesel completed the two-day decathlon with 5,354 points, 384 points more than the previous school record he established last year. He started the event with a time of 11.90 seconds in the 100 meter dash and a mark of 5.91 meters (19' 4.75") in the long jump, followed by a mark of 11.10 meters (36' 5") in the shot put that places him atop the GNAC performance list in the event.

After completing day one with 2,891 points, Kiesel posted a collegiate-best time of 19.47 seconds in the 110 meter hurdles and finished second among the competitors in the discus throw at 32.92 meters (108' 0") and in the javelin throw at 45.51 meters (149' 4"). He ended up in fifth place overall among a field of participants mostly from the NESCAC.

Kalinowski tied his outdoor school record in the pole vault after clearing 4.15 meters (13' 7.25") to finish sixth in the event. Kalinowski also led the Regis men in the shot put with a mark of 11.05 meters (36' 3") accomplished on his final attempt. On the GNAC performance list, the first-year competitor is currently first in the pole vault and second in the shot put.

The Regis College track and field team will host the Pre-Conference Meet Saturday, April 22, starting at 10 a.m. on campus. After the meet, the Pride seniors will be recognized for their contributions to the program.
