Regis Men’s Track and Field Starts 2022-23 Indoor Campaign

ROXBURY, Mass. - The Regis College men's track and field team started its 2022-23 indoor season by competing in the Suffolk University Relays Saturday at the Reggie Lewis Center.

Justin Thuotte (Lebanon, Conn.) started his collegiate career with several top performances, highlighted by a second place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 12.69 meters (41' 7.75") on his sixth and final attempt. He also cleared 1.75 meters (5' 8.75") in the high jump to finish 10th in that event, and he placed 11th in the long jump with a top mark of 6.14 meters (20' 1.75").

Harry Grayson (Lowell, Mass.) led the Pride in the 60 meter hurdles with a preliminary time of 9.24 seconds, finishing 11th overall, and in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.37 seconds to end up in 21st place overall. Zachary Olayiwole (Marlborough, Mass.) finished in 29th place overall in the 200 meter dash, posting the Pride's best time in the event at 24.12 seconds.

AJ Corso (Broad Brook, Conn.) finished in sixth place in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:23.38, while Chris Margiatto (Suffield, Conn.) finished seventh in the 600 meter run with a time of 1:33.93. Corso, Margiatto, Benjamin Happenny (Woonsocket, R.I.), and Zach Sigman (Buffalo, N.Y.) combined to post a time of 12:39.61 in the distance medley relay, good enough for a fourth place finish.

In the throwing events, Aiden Charles (Lowell, Mass.) led the Pride in the weight throw with a mark of 10.21 meters (33' 6"), smashing his previous collegiate best mark by almost eight full feet. Bryan Abreu (Haverhill, Mass.) posted the top Regis mark in the shot put at 9.28 meters (30' 5.5"), while Ed Power (Lynn, Mass.) was second among Pride competitors in both the shot put at 8.86 meters (29' 1") and the weight throw at 9.34 meters (30' 7.75").

Regis College returns to action after the start of the new year, traveling to Gorham, Maine for the USM Open II hosted by University of Southern Maine Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, beginning at 12 p.m.
