WESTFIELD, Mass. - Matt Owens (Boston, Mass.) had another impressive day at the NEICAAA Championships on Saturday afternoon at Westfield State University, smashing his own school record in the 100m with a time of 10.79s.

Owens entered the Championships ranked eighth in New England in the 100m dash and finished fifth in the race with his record-breaking time. He broke his previous record of 11.02s and currently holds the 44th fastest time in the country in Division III.

"Matt's race is impressive because he ran his fastest time on the biggest stage," Coach Flynn says. "Matt is up against Division 1, 2, and 3 athletes and he held his own. He always seems to rise to the occasion and show his best in front of the largest crowds."

Matt Owens has one more opportunity on Thursday when he competes in the ECAC Championships in Troy, N.Y. at RPI.
