MEN'S TRACK TO BOOST ROSTER WITH INCOMING CLASS

 Weston,Mass.—The Regis College men’s track and field team recently announced commitments for the 2011-12 fall and spring season.

In only its third year of existence, the Men’s Track & Field Squad is quickly bulking up its talented ranks with the latest additions in the 2011-12 recruiting class. Of the athletes who have already committed, the Men’s Team will easily see a re-writing of the record books consistently throughout the year.

The Men’s sprint squad will host a number of talented quarter-milers from across the area. Massachusetts additions include: Ryan Manning (Hanover High School) with bests of 23.87s in the 200m and 53.84s in the 400m; and Jeremy Israel (Boston College High School) with bests of 52.55s for the 400m and 37.32s for the 300m; while Chandler Davies (University High School, Conn.) comes to Regis with a full range of experience in the sprints (11.62s for the 100m, 23.74s in the 200m, 52.55s in the 400m).

In the men’s field events, the squad welcomes Everett High School graduate Stanley LaForest with talents in the triple jump, high jump, and 55-meter hurdles; with bests of 39’ in the triple and 8.66s in the high hurdles, respectively. Meanwhile, arriving from Lewis Mills High School in Connecticut, the team will benefit with the addition of Paul Gionfriddo, who will make an excellent training partner for the school’s current top thrower, Bobby Ryan (Reading, MA).
