RAPSIS AND HEATHMAN LEAD PRIDE AT TUFTS

Weston, Mass.— The Regis College Indoor Track & Field squad travelled to Medford, Massachusetts to compete at Tufts University. Hitting the peak of their season the team notched several personal bests to add to their already successful season.

The Pride was led by freshman vaulter Tori Rapsis (Nashua, N.H./Nashua) who tied for 5th place in the meet. Rapsis competed against 21 other vaulters at the meet. The squad's short-sprinters competed in the 60-meter dash with co-captain Ana Baker (Hartford, Conn./Hartford) finishing just a few hundredths off of her personal best, posting 8.98s.

Close behind Baker was Deborah Cesar (Milton, Mass./Fontbonne Academy) (9.15s), and Jovita Nassolo (Ashland, Mass./Ashland), who set a new personal best of 9.84s. Cesar and Baker would come back later in the meet to run the 200-meters.

Freshman Sarah Schow (Northborough, Mass./Algonquin Regional) posted a new best in the mile, with a 6:32.14 min performance.  Fellow freshman Katherine Warner (Shrewsbury, Mass./Shrewsbury) won her heat in the 400, setting a new best with a time of 69.31s.

Warner would join up with Cesar and Baker in the 200, all running solid performances. Also in the 200 was school-record holder Adam Heathman (Oxbow, VT), running 23.82s.  Heathman placed 12th out of 57 athletes.

The shot put was led by senior Nathan Fagundo (Newton, Mass.) who added another 18inches to his previous best, posting an 8.45meter throw.

The Pride will return once more to Tufts University for their final regular season meet of the year on February 12th.
