RECORDS FALL AT TERRIER INVITATIONAL

Travelling with a small contingent of select athletes this weekend, the Regis College Track & Field Team competed at the Boston University Terrier Invitational. In a meet that boasted schools from around the northeast, the Pride rose to the occasion with another weekend of great performances.

Records, Records, Records.

Almost every athlete competing for the Pride posted a school record or personal best. As with most meets this season, vaulter Tori Rapsis (Nashua, NH) kicked off the meet for the squad. Rapsis posted another clearance of 9’ 6 ¼”; the mark ties her school record, and is looking easier with each attempt.

On the track, athletes setting new personal bests were freshman Sarah Schow (Northborough, MA) in the mile (6:32), and sprinters Ana Baker (Hartford, CT) and Katherine Warner in the 200-meter dash (running 29.74 and 30.16, respectively). For the men, the top performance was notched by freshman Adam Heathman (Oxbow, VT), who once again rewrote the Pride’s record book with a performance of 23.33s in the 200-meter dash.  The former record was set by Brad Hastings (23.48s) in 2010, also at the Boston University track.
