MCCANN JOINS TALENTED REGIS MEN'S TRACK PROGRAM

Weston, Mass.—Lucas McCann (Framingham, Mass./Marian) is the latest addition to the Regis College men’s track and field program as announced by head coach Christine Kloiber. McCann is considered to be a specialist in the 600-meter sprint, an indoor event, and will greatly add to the young long-sprint talent Kloiber has currently.

“We’re very excited to add Lucas to our roster,” Kloiber remarked. “He will be a great complement to the talented group of guys we have.”

He has personal best times of 39 seconds and 1 minute, 28 seconds in the 300 and 600 respectively. He led the Mustangs in both events during his senior year. His efforts earned him a spot to run in the 2010 Indoor Nike High School Meet as a member of the 4 x 400 relay team.

He is a multi-sport athlete that will concentrate specifically on track and field once at Regis. McCann also plays baseball for Marian. “He’s a recruit with a lot of motivation and focus,” said Kloiber.

Kloiber feels that with a full year of preparation that McCann could immediately reap benefits. “His potential is still relatively untouched,” Kloiber added.

McCann will be graduating from Marian High this spring.
