The Regis Women’s Basketball program got its start in the late 1940s under the direction of Edwina Hughes and Olive Nolan. The pair would coach the program for 33 seasons. In the 40s, Regis College competed against teams to the likes of Emmanuel, Clark, and the Newton College of the Sacred Heart.
Women’s basketball would dominate much of the 90s. The team would make several Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference appearances, an NCAA appearance, and win the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship in that time.
In her first year as head coach in 2013-14, Angela Santa Fe guided the Pride to their third straight undefeated regular season in conference play, as well as their second straight NECC Championship and NCAA Division III Tournament bid. In 2014-15, she followed it up with a second-straight unbeaten NECC regular season and third-straight NECC Championship. A year later, the Pride won their unprecedented fourth consecutive NECC title and earned another NCAA Division III Tourney appearance. In the team's final season in the NECC in 2016-17, the Pride won its fifth consecutive conference title.
