PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Regis College battled the Wildcats of Johnson and Wales University before dropping 79-63 in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference women's basketball matchup at the Wildcat Center on Saturday afternoon.
Despite the Wildcats opening the first quarter 25-12, the Pride responded with an additional 17 points to trail by 10 points, 39-29 heading into halftime.
Regis opened up the third quarter with a three-pointer by Jordyn Striggles (Raynham, Mass.) and a jumper by Madi Zancan (Cumberland, R.I.) just before a layup from Mikayla Caruso extended the Wildcats lead. Regis started a 3-2 run before nearly three minutes without a basket made from either team. The Pride eventually came within three points of the Wildcats thanks to a three-pointer from Striggles, however consecutive layups and three-pointers for the Wildcats would extend its lead 55-48 heading into the fourth quarter.

Zancan led the Pride with 23 points and 10 rebounds, shooting 7-of-9 from the free-throw line and 8-of-13 from the field, while Striggles collected 20 points and seven rebounds.
