TEANNA MONTOYA TO JOIN WOMEN'S TENNIS PROGRAM

Weston, Mass.—Regis College head coach John Ciarleglio recently announced that Teanna Montoya (Edgartown, Mass.) plans to play for the women’s tennis team this fall. Montoya’s skills on the court earned her a spot on the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School varsity team.

The AMCATS improve their record to 3-9 overall and 1-9 in the TCCC, while the Pride drop to 0-9 on the year and 0-8 in the conference.

Cambridge, MA – The Suffolk University Women’s Tennis team picked up their first win of the 2009 season, defeating Regis College 6-1 in their season opener on Thursday afternoon. Defending GNAC Rookie of the Year Lauren Cameron (Kingston, Jamaica) picked up right where she left off last fall winning in straights sets 6-0, 6-0 over freshman Caitlin Fitzgerald (Lynn, MA) in the two position for the Rams.

Gordon College (5-7, 4-5 TCCC) easily won in singles play. The Scots Kate Kirby would withdraw from the number one singles position due to injury, giving Megan McCarty the win.
