MCCARTHY PERFECT, PRIDE SLIP PAST SOUTHERN MAINE 5-4

Weston, Mass.-Regis College added its first win of the season to the stats column Tuesday by defeating the University of Southern Maine 5-4.

Regis College (1-5, 0-4 TCCC) will look to carry on its win going into its fifth conference match of the season Saturday. Led by sophomore Megan McCarthy, the Pride was able to gain momentum against a commendable University of Southern Maine team. McCarthy is currently undefeated in conference play.

McCarthy would go on to defeat Amanda Coleman in straight sets (6-0, 6-0). The two would face each other gain in doubles competition. McCarthy was joined with Georgia Cowart, who also defeated her singles opponent Melissa Ford. Coleman and Ashley Oliver would fall in doubles play 8-1.
