NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - For the second time this season, sophomore Madi Zancan (Cumberland, R.I.) has been selected to the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Second Team after leading Regis College in both scoring and rebounding over the past week.

In conference games against New England College and Rivier University, Zancan averaged 23.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game. She shot 64 percent (16-for-25) from the field and 72.2 percent (13-for-18) from the free throw line as she helped Regis to a split of its games last week.

Zancan finished with 20 points on 8-for-11 field goal shooting along with nine rebounds and two steals against the Pilgrims last Tuesday. In Saturday's victory over Rivier, she ended up with 26 points and 13 rebounds for her 10th double-double of the season, scoring at least 20 points in a game for the 10th time this year, including four of the last seven contests.

This is Zancan's second appearance on the NEWBA weekly honor roll this season, as she previously was selected Jan. 9 after averaging over 20 points per game during the first week of 2024. Zancan is currently sixth in the GNAC in scoring, sixth in rebounding, and sixth in blocks per game at 18.6 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game.

Regis College travels to face Elms College Wednesday, Feb. 7, starting at 7 p.m. before hosting Albertus Magnus Saturday, Feb. 10, beginning at 1 p.m.
