Stone Tabbed NEWBA Player of the Week For First Time This Season

WINTHROP, Mass. - For the first time this season, women's basketball senior Brittany Stone (West Bridgewater, Mass.) was named the New England Women's Basketball Association Player of the Week to go along with her sixth Great Northeast Athletic Conference weekly nod. The announcement came on Monday afternoon.

Stone had a monster week for the Pride, averaging 29.5 points, 17.0 rebounds and 3.5 blocks, while shooting an incredible 74.2% (23-31 FG, 15-17 FT) from the floor as Regis went 1-1. She posted 30 points (13-16 FG), 16 rebounds and four blocks in a win at Simmons before registering 29 points (10-15 FG), 18 rebounds and three blocks in a road loss to Suffolk.

Stone and the Pride conclude their 2017-18 regular season in the week ahead, starting with a vital game against Emmanuel College on Tuesday evening at Higgins Court. Tip-off between the Pride and Saints is set for 7:00 p.m.
