Stone Named GNAC Co-Player of the Week

WINTHROP, Mass. - Two days removed from becoming the Regis (Mass.) women's basketball all-time leading scorer, senior Brittany Stone (West Bridgewater, Mass.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Co-Player of the Week. The announcement came from the conference office on Monday afternoon. Stone was also named to the New England Women's Basketball Association weekly honor roll.

Stone led Regis to a 3-0 week, averaging 21 points and 12.3 rebounds per game with a pair of double-doubles. She scored 26 points and grabbed 13 boards to go with three steals and three blocks on Tuesday in a 67-44 win over St. Joseph (Conn.), and two games later totaled 27 points, 16 rebounds, one assist and one block as the Pride defeated Mount Ida, 71-48, on Saturday. She shot 60 percent from the field and 83.3 percent from the charity stripe for the week, in the process becoming the program's all-time leading scorer with 1,682 points.

Stone and Kesli McNamara, this week's co-award winner, will go head-to-head this week in a vital GNAC game for the Pride on Thursday, as the team travels to Standish, Maine for a 6:00 p.m. tip-off with the Monks.
