FRONTCOURT DUO POWERS PRIDE TO WIN OVER HAWKS

LEICESTER, Mass. - Regis College defeated Becker College 83-42 in New England Collegiate Conference women's basketball action Wednesday evening at the Leicester Gymnasium. The win lifts the Pride record to 19-3 (15-0 NECC) while the Hawks stumble to 6-16 (5-10 NECC).

Regis led the entire game, jumping out to an early 14-0 advantage. The Pride shot just under 52 percent from the field while out-rebounding the Hawks 45-21.

Junior Amanda Hawkesworth (Abington, Mass.) led the way for the Pride with a game-high 26 points. Brittany Stone (West Bridgewater, Mass.) chipped in with 23 points and a game best seven rebounds. Freshman Sam D'Angelo (Woburn, Mass.) came off the bench to tally nine points and five boards while Mikayla Murphy (Attleboro, Mass.) dished out a game high five assists.

Becker freshmen Ciara McKissick (Charlton, Mass.) and Tanaisha Espino (Southbridge, Mass.) were the lone Hawks in double figures with 11 points apiece. Erin Gaudette (Spencer, Mass.) came off the bench to score seven points and pull down a team best six boards.

Both teams return to NECC action on Saturday, February 13th. Becker will travel to Bay Path University for a 1:00 p.m. tilt with the Wildcats. Regis will host Elms College on Senior Day beginning at 2:00 p.m.
