PRIDE FINISH PERFECT 18-0 IN NECC REGULAR SEASON

NASHUA, N.H. – For the second season in a row, the Regis College women's basketball team wrapped up a perfect 18-0 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) regular season record after picking up a 68-41 road victory over Daniel Webster College on Saturday afternoon. The Pride move to 21-4 overall and have earned the number one seed in the upcoming NECC playoffs, which begin on Tuesday. The Pride have earned a bye to the Semifinals, which will take place on Friday, February 22.

After a somewhat slow start for the Pride, Janaya Bradley (New Haven, Conn.) got things moving for her team after hitting back-to-back baskets at the 15:24 and 15:02 minute marks for Regis' first points of the game. Bradley, who would finish with eight points, two rebounds, two assists, and a steal on the day, sparked a 24-8 run for the Crimson & Gold over the stretch of nine minutes.

In the last 70 seconds of the first half, the Eagle's Vanessa Bosques (Windham, Conn.) and Pride's Lauren Kimble (Concord, Calif.) traded three-pointers, and Bosques nailed another jump shot with time expiring as Regis entered halftime with a 31-21 lead.

The second half saw Regis start to pull away from Daniel Webster and build upon their lead. Sabree Rodriguez (Brockton, Mass.) went on a run of her own, scoring seven points in a row for Regis to stretch the lead to 53-31 with 11:31 remaining. Kimble went on to hit two more three-pointers down the stretch as the Pride finished with the 68-41 win.

Rodriguez led the way for the Pride, scoring a game-high 20 points to go along with six rebounds, two assists, two steals, and one block. Kimble and Monet Lowe (Framingham, Mass.) each pitched in with nine points apiece, as the Regis bench accounted for an impressive 25 points in the win. Kimble also added two rebounds and one assist, while Lowe had seven rebounds, two assists, and one block.

Bosques and Emily Travis (Somerset, Mass.) each pitched in 13 points for the Eagles, who drop to 13-2, 13-5 NECC with the loss, and will host Bay Path in the NECC Quarterfinals on Tuesday. Bosques added one steal and ten rebounds for the double-double, while Travis had eight rebounds and two steals to go along with her 13 points.

The Pride, who will face the winner of the Bay Path and Daniel Webster game on Tuesday, will host the NECC Semifinals and Championship next weekend.
