PRIDE POWERS PAST BADGERS FOR FIRST VICTORY OF THE SEASON

The Regis College women's basketball team defeated Johnson State College in the consolation game of the Eastern Connecticut State Tip-off Tournament by the score of 90-48. The Pride moves to 1-1 on the season while the Badgers Move to 0-2.

The Pride got things rolling early in the first half under the strong play of Claire Ramonas (Portland, Maine) who tallied ten points and grabbed six boards.

In the second half the Pride got a solid performance from sophomore Lauren Kimble (Orinda, Calif.) who finished the game with 12 points. Stephanie Wozmak (Auburn, N.H.) and Alex Chace (North Easton, Mass.) chipped in to rack up 10 points apiece.

On the defensive side of the court the Pride was led by Steph Crawford (Rockland, Mass.) and Emilee Marro (Bedford, N.H.) who combined to cause eight turnovers and notch eight steals.

The Badgers were led by Brittany Robertson who tallied 16 points, four assists, and four steals on the game.

Ramonas's strong performance throughout the tournament garnered her a spot on the All-Tournament team. Ramonas led Regis to third place with the victory over the Badgers. Ramonas led all players in the third-place game with 19 points and topped the Pride with six rebounds.

The Crimson and Gold return to action December 2nd when they take on Westfield State in the first round of the Regis College Tournament.
