MCNULT RANKED NATIONALLY FOR REBOUNDS

Weston, Mass.—The Regis College women’s basketball team has played tough all season. The Pride currently holds an overall record of 9-8 and is 3-2 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference. The Pride has been led on defense by senior Sarah McNult (Hampstead, N.H./Pinkerton Academy).

McNult has been a force for the Pride off the glass. McNult has totaled 218 rebounds in this season and tallied her 1,000th rebound Tuesday night against Colby College. McNult is on pace to break her season high of 290 rebounds set in the 2009-10 season.  McNult is currently averaging 12.8 rebounds per game and with eight games left in the season. If she continues her current average, she has the potential to finish the season with 314 rebounds.

McNult currently ranks 13th in the NCAA for rebounds on the season and is first in TCCC play for total number of rebounds. McNult has had 10 games in which she has recorded a double-double.  These 10 double-doubles rank her 17th in the NCAA.  McNult is an offensive threat as well she is currently averaging 10.3 points per game.

McNult will look to continue her rebounding dominance Thursday (Jan. 27) when the Pride travels to the University of New England.

Saturday (Jan. 29) the Pride will host Wentworth Institute of Technology. This game should be a clash of the titans as McNult will challenge the Leopards Kirsten Vallone (Avon, N.Y./Avon Central) in the rebound battle.  Vallone currently stands second to McNult in total rebounds on the season, and tops McNult in defensive rebounds per game averaging 8.5.  The game will be played at the Regis College Athletic Center and is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m.
