STEPHANIE CRAWFORD NAMED REGIS COLLEGE OUTSTANDING THIRD-YEAR STUDENT ATHLETE

Weston, Mass.—Regis College, during its annual athletic awards banquet, announced Stephanie Crawford (Rockland, Mass./Rockland) as the Regis College Outstanding Third-Year Student-Athlete of the Year Award recipient.

The Rockland, Mass. native helped Regis College reach its fourth consecutive The Commonwealth Coast Conference tournament, and to an Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament appearance.
Crawford, serving as the team’s point guard, has led the Pride to a TCCC Championship game during the 2009-10 season, followed by an ECAC semifinal game in the same season. During the 2010-11 season she orchestrated a repeat finish for Regis College, leading the team to a semifinal and quarterfinal finish, respectively.

She finished with double-digit performances in her last three games of the 2010-11 season. Crawford averaged a team-high 13.8 points per game, and posted a season-high 29 points versus non-conference Suffolk University (12/07/10). The Rockland, Mass. native scored double figures in 18 of Regis’ 28 games.

Crawford was sound in every area of her game. Averaging 14.0 PPG versus conference opponents, Crawford averaged 4.2 rebounds per game, 3.8 assists per game, and averaged 39.8 percent shooting from the field. She made just shy of 80 percent at free-throw line, and shot 36.4 percent from behind the three-point arc.

She was also named to the All-TCCC Second Team for the second time in her career. Crawford will be one of four rising seniors expected to return to the hardwood for the Pride next season. Regis College will begin competition in the New England Collegiate Conference at the beginning of the 2011-12 academic year.

Regis College defeated two NECC teams, Daniel Webster (67-45) and Newbury (87-46), this season. Crawford averaged 13.0 PPG in those two match-ups.
