WHITE, RAMONAS, AND KIMBLE SCORE DOUBLE DIGITS IN PRIDE VICTORY

Weston, Mass.—The Regis College women's basketball team defeated Gordon College Thursday (Feb. 3) by the score of 61-27.  The Pride moves to 11-9 overall on the season and is 5-3 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference. The visiting Scots move to 2-18 overall on the season and 1-7 in TCCC play.

The Pride was led by Brittany White (Dorchester, Mass./New Mission) who had a first half high of 11 points. Freshman Claire Ramonas (Portland, Maine/Deering) led the Pride on defense with a first half high of six rebounds.

The Scots were led by Clancey Adams (West Simsbury, Conn.) who tallied two rebounds and five points in the first half. The Pride settled the ball on offense for most of the first half. The Scots played better team defense in the last five minutes of the first half but could not contain the Pride. The Pride controlled the lead at half, with the score being 33-8.

The Pride opened the second half with a three point shot from Lauren Kimble (Orinda Calif./Miramonte), who had a team high of 16 points in the game.  The Scots picked up its offensive intensity and were led by Lauren Kranyak (Locust Grove, VA) and Becca Berman (Thousand Oaks, Calif.). Kranyak finished the game with a team high of 12 points and five rebounds. Berman finished second on the team with points and rebounds, tallying six points and four rebounds.

The Pride continued to push the tempo of the game in the second half. Ramonas and White were persistent from the paint. This strong play paid off with both players tallying 11 points in the game. This offensive push was too much for the Scots as the Pride wore out the clock to win the game 61-27.

The Scots next game will be Saturday (Feb. 05) against Nichols College at 12:00 p.m.

The Pride's next matchup is Saturday (Feb. 05) and will be against Endicott College.
