BOSTON – The Regis College men's and women's track and field teams secured multiple top-10 finishes and GNAC titles at the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Indoor Track and Field Championship on Sunday at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center.
Women's Results
Aubrey Heise (Mattapoisett, Mass.) had a strong performance, securing second place in both the women's 400 meters (1:01.67) and the 800 meters (2:25.72). Aleyo Amasa-Titus (Georgetown, Mass.) followed closely behind in the 400 meters, finishing third in 1:01.76. She also placed second in the women's 200 meters with a time of 27.11.
Olivia Dench (Center Moriches, N.Y.) placed third in the women's 60 meters, clocking in at 8.29 seconds. Amasa-Titus added a third-place finish in the women's long jump at 4.89 meters, while Emily Aho (Pelham, N.H.) finished ninth at 4.51 meters. Grace Micklon (Salem, N.H.) placed fifth in the women's pole vault with a height of 2.15 meters, and Pilar Brown (Rockland, Mass.) took sixth in the women's shot put with a throw of 9.22 meters.
The women's 4x400 meter relay team of Heise, Amasa-Titus, Dench, and Colleen Curran (Woburn, Mass.) finished third overall with a time of 4:17.69.
Men's Results
Aiden Charles (Lowell, Mass.) was crowned GNAC Champion in the men's weight throw, recording a mark of 14.13 meters. Harry Grayson (Lowell, Mass.) also earned a GNAC title, winning the men's 60-meter hurdles in 8.53 seconds.
Ryan Sweeney (Lynn, Mass.) claimed the GNAC Championship in the men's shot put with a mark of 12.93 meters.
Justin Thuotte (Lebanon, Conn.) had an impressive showing, finishing second in the men's long jump (6.60 meters) and the men's triple jump (13.05 meters). He also placed third in the men's weight throw (11.99 meters) and tied for fourth in the men's high jump (1.70 meters).
The men's 4x400 meter relay team of Chris Margiatto (Suffield, Conn.), Grayson, Benjamin Happenny (Woonsocket, R.I.), and Riley Stogsdill (San Diego, Calif.) secured second place with a time of 3:32.60.
Stogsdill also finished fourth in the men's 400 meters, clocking in at 51.50 seconds. Haroun Mafhoum (Bellingham, Mass.) placed fourth in the men's mile (4:42.67) and later finished fourth in the men's 3000 meters (9:45.42).
Overall, the Regis men's team finished second with 104 points, while Saint Joseph's College secured first place with 234 points. The women's team claimed fourth place, with Emmanuel winning the title with 151 points, followed by Johnson & Wales in second and Saint Joseph's College in third.
