Regis Competes in Day 1 of NED3 Indoor Track and Field Championships

BOSTON, Mass. – Select student- athletes from Regis College Indoor Track and Field competed on the first day of the New England Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday, February 28, at the Track at New Balance.

Starting with the field events, Justin Thuotte (Lebanon, Conn.) competed in the men's long jump, recording a mark of 6.22 meters to finish in 23rd place.

On the track, Aubrey Heise (Mattapoisett, Mass.) placed 12th in the women's 600 meters with a time of 1:39.49, setting a new school record. The 4x200 meter relay team followed up with another school record, as Aleyo Amasa-Titus (Georgetown, Mass.), Olivia Dench (Center Moriches, N.Y.), Abby Kilbride (Peabody, Mass.), and Heise finished in 1:50.04 to secure 21st place. Finally, the men's distance medley team, consisting of Brian LaPorte (Bridgewater, Mass.), Chris Margiatto (Suffield, Conn.), Benjamin Happenny (Woonsocket, R.I.), and Riley Stogsdill (San Diego, Calif.), completed their race in 11:28.56, marking the third school record of the day.

The Pride will return to the Track at New Balance for the second day of the New England Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships tomorrow, Saturday, March 1, starting at 11:00 a.m.
