Women’s Lacrosse Defeated in Road GNAC Contest

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Regis College was defeated by Johnson & Wales University, 20-3, Saturday in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference women's lacrosse match at Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletics Complex.

Regis scored the first goal of the game 50 seconds into the contest when Abbie Doheny (Lunenburg, Mass.) found Isabella Beane (Marlborough, Mass.) for her 26th goal of the season, second on the squad behind Kylee Marley (Westerly, R.I.) with 39. Johnson & Wales took over for the rest of the game, scoring the next 19 goals of the contest. The Pride would finish strong with fourth-quarter goals by Morgan Pero (Hartford, Vt.) and Marley, both assisted by Kate Flemming (Woburn, Mass.).

Taina Gamory led the Wildcats, scoring six goals and recording four assists. Katie Sloan had five goals and two assists while Madeleine Gould contributed four goals and one assist. Maris DiBeneditto added three goals and one assist. Emma Glyman made eight saves for Johnson & Wales while Grace Heffernan (Winchester, Mass.) made six saves for the Pride.

Regis College (2-13, 2-10 GNAC) hosts Elms Tuesday, Apr. 26, at 7 p.m. to conclude regular season play.
