BRIGHTON, Mass. – Regis College Women's Lacrosse made the quick trip to Daly Field in Brighton, Massachusetts to take on the Sharks from Simmons University in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action. A dominant seven-goal first quarter propelled the home team to a 15-7 victory, boosting their overall record to 3-5 and 2-3 in GNAC play, while the loss dropped the Pride to 3-6 overall and 1-3 in conference action..
Maddie Sainato (Wilmington, Mass.) led the Pride with three goals and Serenity Ayala (North Brookfield, Mass.) contributed offensively with two goals and an assist while making a strong defensive impact with three caused turnovers and three ground balls.
Frida Turriza spearheaded the Sharks with a game high seven goals to go along with two helpers while Abby Mountain added four goals and an assist on the morning. Defensively, Leah Finn caused a game-high five turnovers for Simmons in the victory.
How it Happened:
- Mountain and Turriza dominated the opening frame for the Sharks, netting two and three goals, respectively, to account for five of their team's seven goals in the opening quarter.
- Three minutes into the second quarter, Audrey Mason (West Springfield, Mass.) put the Pride on the board to cut her squad's deficit to six. However, behind a trio of goals from Turriza the Sharks closed the half on a 3-0 run to take the commanding 11-1 lead at the break.
- Sainato capitalized on a man-up opportunity and a free position shot in the third stanza to contribute two of the Pride's three goals in the third to head into the final 15 minutes behind 14-4.
- Three members of the Pride scored in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Sharks 3-1 in the period, but ultimately fell short in a 15-7 defeat.

- First year, Maddie Sainato recorded her first hat trick for the crimson and gold in this morning's effort.
- Serenity Ayala has now recorded three points in three of her last four outings for the Pride.
