Women’s Lacrosse Bested in GNAC Contest
WESTON, Mass. – Regis College lost to Saint Joseph's College of Maine, 19-4, Thursday night in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference women's lacrosse match at Regis Stadium.
 
Kylee Marley (Westerly, R.I.) and Isabella Beane (Marlborough, Mass.) each had two goals for the Pride while Morgan Pero (Hartford, Vt.) added two assists. Saint Joseph's was led offensively by Bridget Collins with five goals and Lydia Dexter with four goals and six assists.
 
The Monks jumped on the Pride early, scoring the first six goals of the game before Marley put one in on a free position shot with just over four minutes remaining in the first quarter. Saint Joseph's added to its lead throughout most of the contest with six goals in the second quarter and six more goals after halftime.
 
The Pride would finish strong, scoring the last three goals of the game. Kate Flemming (Woburn, Mass.) found Marley for her second goal of the game, and Pero connected with Beane for the final two goals of the contest.
 
Morgan Wright and Mackenzie Baston split time in goal for the Monks, combining for seven saves, while Grace Heffernan (Winchester, Mass.) made four saves for the Pride.
 
Regis College (2-11, 2-8 GNAC) next hosts Dean Tuesday, Apr. 19, starting at 7:00 p.m. Saint Joseph's College of Maine (13-0, 9-0 GNAC) hosts Anna Maria Tuesday, also beginning at 7:00 p.m.
