Women’s Lacrosse Loses at Simmons

BRIGHTON, Mass. – Regis College lost to Simmons University, 22-2, Tuesday night in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference women's lacrosse match at Daly Field.

Simmons (12-2, 9-1 GNAC) scored the first eight goals of the match, led by Julia Chausse with three goals and two assists, Kat Wood with three goals, and Abby Stoller with two goals. Both Regis goals came in the second quarter, as Kylee Marley (Westerly, R.I.) notched her 33rd goal of the season just over two minutes into the period and Madeline Conover (West Newbury, Mass.) converted a free position opportunity with 6:03 left before halftime.

The Sharks continued to pressure the Pride defense, finishing with 35 total shots while holding the Pride to eight shots. For the match, Stoller led Simmons with eight goals and six draw controls, and Chausse also collected eight points with three goals and five assists.

Nicole Elliott played the first three quarters in net for the Sharks and made one save before Erin McIntyre took over for the fourth period and earned three saves without allowing a goal. Grace Heffernan (Winchester, Mass.) finished with 10 saves in net for the Pride.

Regis (2-10, 2-7 GNAC) hosts Saint Joseph's College of Maine Thursday, April 14, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
