Women’s Lacrosse Prevails in High Scoring GNAC Matchup
WESTON, Mass. – Regis College defeated Anna Maria College, 16-12, Saturday afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference women's lacrosse match at Regis Stadium.

Three Regis players finished with a hat trick or better, led by Kylee Marley (Westerly, R.I.) with five goals. Morgan Pero (Hartford, Vt.) finished with four goals while Abbie Doheny (Lunenburg, Mass.) had three goals and one assist. Mia Rogers (Revere, Mass.), Kate Flemming (Woburn, Mass.), Isabella Beane (Marlborough, Mass.), and Madeline Conover (West Newbury, Mass.) each contributed one goal while Beane and Conover also added one assist each.

After the Pride went down 2-0 to start off the game, Pero put them on the board with just over eight minutes remaining in the first quarter on an unassisted goal. Marley scored a minute and three seconds later off a pass from Doheny. A second Pero goal with just ten seconds remaining in the first period put the score at 4-3 in favor of Anna Maria. Each team scored four goals in the second period as the AMCATS took an 8-7 lead into halftime.

Anna Maria maintained a one-goal advantage after the third quarter, but six straight Regis goals in the fourth quarter, including three by Marley, sealed the deal for the home team. The 16 goals would be the highest single-match scoring output of the season for the Pride.

Regis goalie Grace Heffernan (Winchester, Mass.) earned her second win of the season, finishing the day with five saves. Anna Maria goalie Sarah Burt recorded 17 saves in the loss as the Pride outshot the AMCATS, 40-23. Regis also dominated draw controls, winning 24 compared to seven for Anna Maria.

Regis College (2-7, 2-4 GNAC) next plays at Lasell Tuesday, Apr. 5, beginning at 4:00 p.m. Anna Maria (2-8, 0-6 GNAC) travels to the University of Saint Joseph Tuesday for a 6 p.m. contest.
