Brett Kiesel Named GNAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week
WINTHROP, Mass. – With a record-setting performance in the javelin throw at Saturday's pre-conference meet at Regis Stadium, Brett Kiesel (Rocky Hill, Conn.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Field Athlete of the Week, announced Monday, April 25 by the league office.
 
Kiesel improved upon his own school record mark in the javelin throw, finishing in second place with a throw of 47.82 meters (156' 11"). Kiesel also won the discus throw by over two meters with a top mark of 34.62 meters (113' 7").
 
This is Kiesel's second GNAC weekly honor of the year, previously collecting the GNAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week award for strong performances in the long jump and 400 meter run at the Art Farnum Invitational hosted by MIT on Saturday, Jan. 8.
 
Regis College will head to New London, N.H., next Sunday, May 1, for the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Colby-Sawyer College. The meet is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m.
