SOFTBALL AND FIELD HOCKEY VOLUNTEER AT LEUKEMIA AND LYMPHOMA SOCIETY

The Regis College softball and field hockey teams volunteered their time and helped out at the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society located in Natick a few weeks ago. The Pride teams helped out around the offices and helped complete projects.

The Regis College field hockey team placed six student-athletes on the 2011 Gladiator by SGI National Field Hockey Coaches Association’s All-Academic Team, it was announced last week. The National Academic Squad recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2011-12 academic year.

STACY BURNS FEATURED IN WALTHAM NEWS TRIBUNE

Regis College field hockey sophomore Stacy Burns (Waltham, Mass.) was featured in the November 10th edition of the Waltham New Tribune in a feature piece by writer Scott Souza. Burns was named the New England Collegiate Conference Tournament Most Valuable Player after leading the Pride (8-10) to the 2011 NECC Championship with a 3-1 victory over Anna Maria.

SIX REGIS PLAYERS NAMED TO ALL-NECC TEAMS

Six members of the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Champion Regis College field hockey team were named to the conference’s All-NECC Teams, it was announced on Monday afternoon by the league office. Senior co-captains Meghan Robohm (Easton, Mass.) and Victoria Pappas (Niantic, Conn.) were joined on the All-NECC First Team by Cheyenne Genga (South Windsor, Conn.) and Christine O’Toole (Wareham, Mass.). Classmates Kymberly Kerr (Uxbridge, Mass.) and Morgan Mitchell (Ashburnham, Mass.) were named to the Honorable Mention Team.

MARY ROSE CAMPBELL, JENNIFER BAKER, HIGHLIGHT REGIS ATHLETICS 2011 HALL OF FAME CLASS
The Regis College athletics department is proud to announce that it has selected its 2011 inductees into the Regis College Athletics Hall of Fame. The class includes a pair of former Pride basketball players in Mary Rose Campbell and Jennifer Baker as well as the 1995-96 softball team that captured the regular season Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship. The class was inducted in an on-campus banquet held as a part of the Regis College Homecoming festivities.

PRIDE PAWS THROUGH SNOW TO GET SPRING PRACTICES UNDERWAY
Weston, Mass.—The Regis College Athletic Department has been plagued by a nuisance that is white, cold, and piled all over, or in the Pride’s case not piled. The Pride’s home turf has been covered with snow since December and has been continuously exposed to the heavy snow storms over the past few months.

SAY CHEESE, FALL SPORTS PREPARE FOR PHOTO DAY
Weston, Mass.—Everyone loves and remembers sports picture day. Regis fall sport athletes are set to take individual photos Sunday at 2 pm. Men and women’s soccer, field hockey, tennis, and volleyball are set to take headshots, along with new coaches and staff members.

ATHLETICS INKS LOGO DEAL WITH PHOENIX DESIGN WORKS
Weston, Mass.—On July 17 the Regis College Athletics Department completed a two-month process with Phoenix Design Works to re-brand the department with a new logo, proprietary font, and image.

Weston, Mass.—Similar to a child waiting to open presents on their birthday we are awaiting the completion of the new outdoor facilities. Knock on wood they are all finished by the projected September completion date.
