THE PRIDE FALL TO MUSTANGS 3-2

Weston, Mass.---The Regis College women's volleyball team lost to Mount Ida College Tuesday (Sept.21) by the score of 3-2.  The Pride move to 4-9 on the season and are 0-2 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference. The visiting Mustangs improve to 8-3 on the season and are 1-0 in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference.

The Mustangs came out strong to win the first match by the score of 25-21.  Leading the Mustangs was sophomore Devan Frank (Mystic, Conn./Fitch) who led the team in kills registering a team high of nine. The Pride responded with a win in set two by the score of 25-17.  On offense the Pride was led by Freshman Angelica Endara (Boca Raton, Fla. /Boca Raton) who registered a team high eight kills. In match three the Pride were able to carry this momentum by winning by the score of 25-17. Freshman Sara Gold (North Hollywood Calif. /Notre Dame) chipped in by registering 13 digs and three service aces for the Pride.

In set four, the Mustangs were able to battle back and win the set by the score of 25-12. Senior Kira Feeter (Keene, NH. /Keene) set the tone for the Mustangs offense by registering a team high 18 assists during the game.  In the fifth and final set the Pride was led by Senior Randi Garrity (Reading, Mass. /Reading Memorial) tallied 9 assists for the Pride in the game. The Mustangs were led by senior Chelsea Darnell (Dublin, Ohio. /Scioto) who had a strong offensive performance with seven kills.

The Pride's next match is set for Saturday (Sept. 25) against Union College at Farleigh Dickenson University. The Mustangs will host rival Lasell College Thursday (Sept. 23) at 7:00 pm.
