REGIS COLLEGE TO HOST MOUNT IDA IN WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL

WESTON, Mass.—Regis College will host the Mount Ida Mustangs in a non-conference match-up Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. Mount Ida (7-3, 1-0 GNAC) will face the Pride having come off back-to-back wins versus Emmanuel and Newbury respectively. Regis College (4-8, 0-2 TCCC) is coming off two loses to conference opponents. The Pride did win a set against Endicott, a conference rival.

In its three sets, the Mustangs allowed Newbury to get within just four points on Saturday. In its two other sets Mount Ida won by 11 and 17 points respectively. Kira Feeter had 17 assists and five service aces for the Mustangs against Newbury. The Mustangs went on a five game winning streak between Sept.7-11, before falling to Wheaton (Mass.) 3-0 on September 16.

Regis College dropped a 3-0 decision to the Mustangs in 2009 at Mount Ida. With the tables turned, Regis College is 3-6 at home, while the Mustangs have not won a match on the road this season. Teammates Meghan McCarty and Julie Endara lead the team in kills with 79 and 76 respectively. McCarty has team-highs in block solos (35), hitting percentage (.267), and finishes in the top three in service aces (22).

Senior Randi Garrity holds the top spot in assists with 224. Freshman Sara Gold has 99 digs this season (2.54/game), and second in service aces with 27. Megan Pratt leads the team in aces with 28.

Similar to many other games, limiting mistakes, and having a solid all-around match should help the Pride to a victory over Mount Ida.
