Regis Women's Lacrosse Falls to Clark on the Road

WORCESTER, Mass. – Regis College women's lacrosse traveled to Worcester, Massachusetts, this afternoon to face the Cougars from Clark University, where the Cougars came out on top, defeating the Pride by a score of 14-4. As a result, Regis dropped to 1-1 on the season, while Clark improved to 2-1.

Audrey Mason (West Springfield, Mass.) led the Pride with three goals while Molly Higgins (Weymouth, Mass.) added a goal, two ground balls and a caused turnover. Defensively, Daniela Mazo (Bridgeport, Conn.) turned away 12 shots in the effort.

The Cougars were spearheaded by Meghan Fogarty's five goals, while Erin Lucas had an all-around game with three goals, three caused turnovers, and three ground balls in the victory.

How it Happened:

  • After falling behind 3-0, the Pride managed to get on the scoreboard by capitalizing on a man-up opportunity, with Mason scoring their first goal at the 8:56 mark of the second quarter. Less than 30 seconds later, Higgins followed up with a free position shot, cutting the deficit to just one goal.
  • Fogarty responded for the Cougars, scoring two quick goals in the final two minutes of the half to extend her team's lead to 5-2 heading into the break.
  • Mason added two more goals in the third to complete her hat trick, but the Cougars were able to tack on five goals of their own, extending their lead to 10-4 as the game went into the final quarter.
  • The Cougars added four more goals in the fourth quarter to secure the 14-4 victory over the Pride.

  • Mason recorded her sixth career hat trick in today's game at Clark.
  • Mazo's 12 saves marks a season-high for the junior goalie.
